FRIENDS! How wild is this? In the past 10 years alone, I lived in 8 different cities across 3 continents, and traveled to over 40 countries (And no, I WISH I had some financial backing to do that…just me and my own scrappy paychecks). Clearly this travel bug has got a hold on me. It’s been liberating, empowering, and eye opening for me, and I hope to share that feeling with you guys.

Why I quit my job as a millennial and moved abroad for 2 years. Didn’t know anybody. Had only a 1-way ticket, 2 suitcases, and NO money.
I lived in South America for two years, but am from Chicago. I reflect on a few takeaways from being abroad for 2 years, some funny, some serious.
In 2019 Chicago and Sydney became sister cities and was the same year Chicago elected its first black female and openly lesbian mayor. To represent Chi town and celebrate, a few of us were sent to Sydney to walk/participate in their annual Mardi Gras parade. I had the honor of hanging out with Sydney’s Mayor, @clovermoore, and walk beside an incredible group of Australians/Americans united by love, in a historic moment.
